War in Ukraine: in Orne, the difficult exile of refugee women

In Bagnoles-de-l’Orne (adorns)a Ukrainian left everything after the outbreak of the war. She had to quit her job of journalist and her husband in Ukraine. Since then, she has been treating patients undergoing treatment. “I need to work here while living in France, and I want to return to Ukraine as soon as possible“, she declares. She is not the only one in this situation, since ten Ukrainian women have received two weeks of training in this thermal center.

If the Ukrainians look good in front of the curists, homesickness is felt. “We see that they are always smiling, but we still feel that there is sadness behind“, describes Odessa Jouan, referring to the thermal baths of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne (adorns). If these employees do not have the opportunity to return to Ukraine, they will be able to stay and work in the spa centre. The families of the exiled women are lodged at the hotel of the cure. Despite this apparent comfort, the refugees think of their loved ones who have remained in the country.
