War in Ukraine: Hundreds of graves discovered near Izium, according to the Ukrainian army

In a forest on the edge ofIzioum (Ukraine)hundreds of graves were discovered Thursday, September 15, by Ukrainian soldiers, according to the country’s army. The city was recently liberated by the Ukrainian army. On the site, the graves are marked with crosses. Some have names written on them, others have simple numbers. There would be 443 in total, according to a first count.

Ukrainian soldiers are busy around a hole bigger than the others. An inscription reads: “Ukrainian army, 17 people”. It is a video posted by Russian soldiers on social networks which would have allowed the discovery of this pit. Upon discovery of this site, Ukraine accused Russia of mass murder. How did these people die, under what conditions, and by whom were they buried? The deminers are currently ensuring that the site has not been booby-trapped. It is impossible to dig for the moment, and therefore to know more.
