Raphaël Glucksmann, MEP Public Square, was the guest of “4 Truths” on France 2, Tuesday May 9. He notably returned to the war in Ukraine, while a new package of sanctions against Russia will be proposed to the leaders of the European Union at the end of the week. Raphaël Glucksmann regretted the fact that“with each delivery of arms, there is a debate in Europe” and that’“with each series of sanctions, there are discussions of carpet merchants in the European Council”. “There is in the European procrastination a fault committed vis-à-vis the Ukrainians obviously, but also vis-à-vis ourselves, our own security and stability”he estimated.
“The stability of the European continent” at stake
“You have to understand that we live in an extremely dangerous world and that it is finally time to build European defence”continued Raphaël Glucksmann. Vladimir Poutine “thinks we are societies of goldfish, and bets on our weariness, on our ability to zapping”estimated the MEP Place Publique. He said to himself “worried” because the war in Ukraine is “once again perceived as a foreign, even distant subject”. “It is not just Ukraine that is at stake, it is the stability of the European continent as a whole”he warned.
