On Sunday March 13, the European Union approved new sanctions against Moscow. Live from Brussels, journalist Julien Gasparutto provides details.
The European Union decided, on the evening of Sunday March 13, of new sanctions against Moscow. A first meeting ended at the beginning of the evening, in the company of the 27 ambassadors of the Member States. “[Ils] will meet again tomorrow noon, this time to definitively endorse this fourth package of sanctions“, reports the journalist Julien Gasparutto, live from Brussels (Belgium).
These new sanctions relate to three sectors: the end of luxury goods exports, the end of iron and steel imports from Russia to the European Union, and finally the banning of European energy companies from investing in Russia. “New personalities close to power will also be targeted“, says the journalist. Europe does not intend to stop there if Russia continues its offensive, the aim being to “keep the pressure on Vladimir Putin, and make this war more and more expensive for him“.
