(United Nations) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Tuesday before the United Nations to find a “dignified” exit for all parties to the war in Ukraine.

“Together, we must find a reasonable diplomatic solution that will offer both parties a dignified exit from the crisis,” said the head of state from the podium of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts to end the war […] based on the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine,” he added.
The Turkish President said he hoped that “war cannot win” and that a “fair peace process will triumph”, recalling that twice since the start of the war on February 24, Turkey had succeeded in bring together the representatives of Russia and Ukraine in Antalya (south) and Istanbul.
“I invite international organizations and all countries to sincerely support Turkey’s efforts,” he added.
Mr. Erdogan spoke shortly before his speech by telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Turkish president, who has managed to maintain his ties with Moscow and Kyiv since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, has regularly offered his mediation in this conflict, repeating the need to find an agreement that satisfies the two parts.
In an interview on Monday evening with the American television channel PBS, Mr. Erdogan announced that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed to proceed with “the exchange of 200 prisoners”, considering that this is a “significant step forward”. in this conflict.
