On Thursday June 26, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, traveled to Ukraine for his first visit to the country since the war began. He has in particular meet Ukrainian President, Volodymir Zelensky.

It was a highly anticipated trip by President Emmanuel Macron. Thursday, June 16, thehe head of state visited Ukraine for the first time since the start of the war. The French president was not alone, however, as he was accompanied by the leaders of the Italian, Romanian and German governments for these visits to Irpin then to Kyiv. To make this trip, they met on a train where they traveled ten hours in the greatest secrecy to guarantee their safety.

At the scene of the devastated city ofIrpinthe President said: “We we have the first traces of what are war crimes so we have to imagine the heroism of the army, but also of the population. After this visit toIrpinthe leaders had lunch with the Ukrainian President before giving a press conference to make several announcements concerning in particular Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, which European leaders support, like the French head of state. Also, new arms deliveries have been announced.
