A year after the invasion of Russia by Ukraine, we find from kyiv Agnès Vahramian, who for a year has been covering the war.
For a year, Agnès Vahramian has been covering the war in Ukraine, the daily life of Ukrainians. We are almost surprised by such a capacity to resist and by this life which sometimes seems to go on almost normally. “What also strikes me is the ability of the Ukrainians to transform this anniversary date of the invasion, of the aggression, into a day of national pride. And this is what I realize after a year spent criss-crossing this country is that this conflict has revealed a nation”says Agnès Vahramian, special correspondent in Ukraine for France Télévisions.
“Ukrainian society held on”
“The Ukrainians tell us. They say, this year has also been a year of rebirth in this extremely brutal break with our Russian neighbor. ‘We know better who we are, and we know better the price to be paid for our freedomreports the journalist. “We saw these Ukrainians changed, flabbergasted, scared, and then enduring. Many are starting to make plans again, and if there was something to celebrate today in Kiev, it is that Ukrainian society has held on”concludes Agnès Vahramian.
