Since the attacks of October 7, the positioning of Israeli Arabs has been delicate. Report from Kfar Qasim, an Israeli city with a majority Arab population.

After a closure of several weeks, little little by little, life is returning to the souk of Kfar Qasim (Israel). In this vIsraeli town of 25,000 inhabitants, almost everyone is Arabic. Normally, Israelis go there because the prices are lower expensive, but the attack of Hamas changed everything. “We know some people here. However, we are more suspicious.”indicates a customer. An Arab merchant believes that “The situation in Gaza is very disturbing and very difficult.”

“I have no feelings for them”

Asked about the offensive on the Gaza Strip, a business leader Israeli assures : “I have no feelings for them, nothing. Half of those who entered Israel on October 7 were Palestinian civilians, not members of the Hamas.” Civilians certainly followed the Hamas on October 7, but no figures exist. In the old town, the welcome is even less warm. “What happened at the beginning of October was a mistake. This didn’t have to happen. It’s a sin, it has nothing to do with religion or belief.”testifies a woman. Palestinians in Israel are struggling to find a place.
