Wanted for armed robbery, his mother recognizes him and forces him to report himself to the police

Sad discovery for a mother from Chicago, Illinois, USA. While the latter was quietly watching the television news, she had the unpleasant surprise of recognizing her son. This one made the headlines for having organized the extortion of a train driver. Without further ado, she did not hesitate to drag him by force to the nearest police station to force him to report himself.

Zion Brown, a sophomore at Loyola University, is accused of pointing a gun at a Metra Electric train worker in order to compel him to pay him $110 in cash. According to information from The Independent, the facts took place shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15.

The police notably told the English-language media that the young man was decked out in a balaclava. Following the assault, a photo of the suspect, taken using the station’s CCTV cameras, was released. An image on which we can see the young American, a weapon in his hand.

CBS 2 reports that the thief’s mother identified her son from the snap shared by the media. She then allegedly drove him to the Calumet City police station and forced him to surrender. Zion Brown’s attorney said his client admitted to the charges against him. He also tried to explain his gesture. According to him, he would have committed this theft because he was hungry.

CWB Chicago added that the weapon used by the young man was a CO2 pellet gun. He was then thrown into a dumpster. According to the latest information from The Indenpendent, Zion Brown was denied bail during his court appearance.
