Wall Street weighed down by technology

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange started down on Monday, weighed down by technology, at the start of a busy week in economic news: the Dow Jones dropped 0.42%, the NASDAQ lost 1.17% while bond rates continued to rise.

The indices had concluded the previous week with a weekly loss of almost 4% for the tech-dominated NASDAQ, 1.13% for the S&P 500 and 0.28% for the Dow Jones.

On Friday, the index of star stocks had gleaned 0.40% to 34,721.12 points. The NASDAQ had lost 1.34% to 13,711 points and the S&P 500 had dropped 0.27% to 4488.28 points.
