Wall Street up as Fed minutes await

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange moved up at the opening on Wednesday pending the minutes of the last meeting of the Fed and after encouraging signs on inflation in Europe.


The Dow Jones advanced 0.44%, the tech-heavy NASDAQ gained 0.77% and the S&P 500 0.58%, minutes after opening.

Tuesday, after a long weekend, Wall Street had started the year in the red. The Dow Jones fell 0.03% to 33,136.37 points, the NASDAQ lost 0.76% to 10,386.98 points and the S&P 500 0.40% to 3824.14 points.
