(New York) The New York Stock Exchange started sharply higher on Monday after Jerome Powell’s reappointment as head of the American Central Bank (Fed): a few minutes after the opening, the Dow Jones advanced 0.39%, the NASDAQ 0.51%.
Friday, the Dow Jones index had dropped 0.75% to 35,602.18 points and the S&P 500 0.14% to 4697.96 points. The NASDAQ (+ 0.40%) had crossed 16,000 points for the first time, to a new record (16,057.44 points).
Over the week, the Dow Jones lost 1.4%, the S&P 500 is up 0.3% and the NASDAQ is up 1.4%.
