Wall Street scalded by the deceleration of consumption

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened lower on Tuesday, hurt by two markers of consumption in the United States, namely the results of the Home Depot chain and retail sales for April, which testify to a slowdown in American spending.

In early trading, the Dow Jones was down 0.41%, the NASDAQ index was down 0.16% and the broader S&P 500 index was down 0.24%.
