Wall Street opens lower after record for NASDAQ

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened lower on Tuesday after a record for the NASDAQ the day before, awaiting the statistics of the American employment market this week and an intervention by Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Fed.


The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.16%, the tech-heavy NASDAQ was down 0.38% and the broader S&P 500 was down 0.30% as of 9:33 a.m. ET.
