Voting intentions | A second poll places the PQ ahead

(Montreal) For the second time in two weeks, a poll of voting intentions gives the Parti Québécois (PQ) a lead over the ruling Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ).

The poll carried out for Quebecor media by the Léger firm reports that if elections had taken place a few days ago, the PQ would have obtained 31% of popular favor, compared to 25% for the CAQ. Québec solidaire (QS) was in third place, with 17% of support, ahead of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ), at 14%, and the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ), at 11%.

Two weeks ago, a Pallas Data survey carried out on behalf of News conceded 30% of the votes to the PQ, compared to 24% to the Coalition Avenir Québec.

The Léger poll establishes at 63% the proportion of respondents being dissatisfied with the government of Prime Minister François Legault, mainly, they say, because of its inability to improve the health and education systems, and the 30% salary increase. to the members of the National Assembly and the subsidy granted to the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) so that they can play preparatory games in Quebec next season.

According to 28% of those surveyed, PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon would make the best prime minister of Quebec, compared to 19% who support François Legault.

However, the Léger firm observes that support for the PQ is fragile, because its sovereignty project is stagnating at 34% and because 47% of respondents even want Quebec to sign the 1982 Canadian Constitution and be a province like the others.

The survey was carried out among 1,040 Quebecers from 1er to December 4.
