Vote in favor of pressure tactics at the Philippe-Pinel Institute

(Montreal) Employees of the National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry Philippe-Pinel voted in favor of pressure tactics that could go as far as an indefinite general strike.

This was announced by the Union of Professionals of the Government of Quebec (SPGQ), which represents the professional staff of the institute.

The union describes the employer’s salary offers as “ridiculous and insulting” in a press release published Saturday morning.

The SPGQ is not part of the common front which represents 420,000 public sector workers in negotiations for the renewal of collective agreements in the fields of health and social services and education.

The common front involves members of the CSN, CSQ, APTS and FTQ. The latter carried out a first day of strike on November 6.
