In the Vosges massif, Jean-François Marlier, a passionate photographer, immortalizes local species. Chamois are his favorite subject. He raises awareness among the visitors who accompany him about the protection of these species.

When the first snows envelop it, the Vosges massif sits elegantly with its emblematic stubble fields, valleys and lakes. Passionate photographer, Jean-François Marlier has been roaming its heights for more than 20 years. His favorite subject: the chamois of this protected site. Accustomed to human presence in an increasingly busy massif, they are not very shy, but you have to show a lot of patience to hope to see them.

“We hope that the public will be touched”

“The main thing is to stay calm and not make too much noise. Sometimes I can sit for half an hour waiting for the chamois to get used to me.”confides Jean-François Marlier. At 48, he regularly shares his passion to curious visitors who accompany him, and raises their awareness of the protection of local species. “By trying to show all this beauty of nature, we hope that the public either touched and that he also wants to fight to preserve the environment”, indicates Jean-François Marlier.
