The fires are very numerous this summer, and the drought does not help. 93 departments are now affected and subject to water restrictions. The rivers are dry, especially in Haute-Loire and Gard. Volunteers mobilize to save the fish.

Arzon (Upper Loire)a bed of pebbles dotted here and there with a few pockets of water. The river here is almost dry. It is a disaster for aquatic fauna. For fifteen days, fishermen, hunters, individuals have been trying to save the fish that are still breathing. Quick, before the lack of oxygen kills them. Survivors are taken nearby to a slightly deeper waterhole.

Many are in bad shape. A heartbreak for the fishermen, mobilized everywhere where the rivers are affected by drought, such as at the foot of the Cévennes. To from 25 degrees, small trout do not survive. It is therefore necessary to capture them, and then release them below, where the water is cooler. This so-called salvage fishery has been practiced here for fifteen years, but in the past it was not necessary until late summer.
