volunteers come to the rescue of abandoned lions in zoos

In the Sudanese reserve of Al-Baguir, hungry lions, once residents of the Khartoum zoo, have been saved thanks to a group of wildlife enthusiasts.

Othmane Salih, founder of “Sudan animal rescue”, a sanctuary for wild animals, wants to save the lions that zoos can no longer feed for lack of sufficient means. Without any financial support but with the help of about twenty volunteers, he was able thanks to his action to get nearly twenty back on their feet.

Nine photos by Ashraf Shazly illustrate this point; according to an AFP report.
