A million Ukrainians have already crossed the borders of Europe since the beginning of the conflict. Volunteers come to their aid, for example in Poland, where Laurent desbonnets takes stock for 19/20, Thursday, March 3.
The tragedy in Ukraine has already pushed a million refugees on the road to exile trying to escape the war. Many cross the Polish border. “Almost everything is based on solidarity. Volunteers come day and night to offer transport or accommodation solutions throughout Poland or in neighboring countries. It is thanks to them if today there are not vast refugee camps where thousands of Ukrainians would be crammed“, says Laurent desbonnetsin live from Przemysl (Poland).
But the question now is how long will it be enough. “Several humanitarian associations are sounding the alarm and saying that this is only the beginning. They are calling for donations“explains the journalist. According to the UN, a total of four million Ukrainians could leave Ukraine to flee the war, while the European Union has taken an unprecedented decision by granting temporary protection to all these refugees.
