On Sunday May 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was received by his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in Paris. “The Élysée tells us that the two heads of state will discuss Ukraine’s urgent military and humanitarian needs. For several weeks now, Volodymyr Zelensky has been calling for more weapons and combat aircraft”, reports Julien Gal, live from the Élysée Palace. Regarding the delivery of arms, France “always affirms that this will only be discussed within the European framework”adds the journalist.
Germany and Italy before France
Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, accompanied by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna, received Volodymyr Zelensky on the tarmac at Villacoublay airport (Yvelines). “The Ukrainian president arrived from Germany, just before, he was in Italy and he is therefore continuing his diplomatic tour in France. He must sleep at the Élysée tonight and leave tomorrow morning”concludes Julien Gal.
