Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will go to the UN podium on the evening of Tuesday September 19 to deliver a speech. Journalist Franck Genauzeau, live from Washington, discusses the issues surrounding his visit.
“As is often the case, we were late at the United Nations General Assembly. Usually, each representative has 15 minutes to speak. Some speak at much greater length, which is why Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech was delayed. It should take place within 20 to 30 minutes.” explains Franck Genauzeau, live from Washington (United States).
Convince the international community
“Last year, the Ukrainian president chose not to go to New York. He remained in kyiv, and it was from there that he made his speech. Today, he is at the United Nations General Assembly, and we saw him already this morning in the aisles of the General Assembly, welcoming, then warmly applauding American President Joe Biden“, specifies Franck Genauzeau.
Volodymyr Zelensky will aim to convince the international community that “the billions and billions of euros and dollars spent to help Ukraine militarily are not in vain, and that its army can defeat on the ground“, he adds.
