Volodymyr Zelensky continues his visit to North America. The Ukrainian president arrived Thursday, September 21 in the evening in Ottawa, Canada, where he was welcomed by the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. The latter assured him of “unwavering support” of his country in the conflict. Volodymyr Zelensky, accompanied by his Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, is due to meet the Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon, and deliver a speech to the Canadian Parliament. A visit to Toronto is planned where the leader will meet members of the Ukrainian-Canadian community. American tanks soon delivered to Ukraine. Joe Biden assured Thursday that the first Abrams tanks would arrive in Ukraine “next week”. The American president also announced that he had approved a new tranche of military assistance to kyiv, estimated by the Pentagon at some 325 million dollars.
Joe Biden wants to continue helping kyiv. The American president assured Volodymyr Zelensky of the United States’ constant support on Thursday and expressed his confidence in voting in favor of continuing aid to Ukraine. “I am counting on the discernment of the American Congress. There is no alternative”he assured, while certain Republican elected officials are opposed to the validation of a new aid package for Ukraine.
No missiles for Ukraine. The United States, on the other hand, refused a repeated request from kyiv: the delivery of ATACMS missiles. However, Joe Biden “has not ruled out this possibility in the future,” said White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
