Volkswagen | The Taos SUV redesigned for 2025

Aware of the popularity of its segment, the German manufacturer Volkswagen has refreshed its Taos subcompact SUV for 2025, both aesthetically and mechanically.

The model now adopts LED headlights and an optional illuminated horizontal line, a stylistic signature integrated into many of the brand’s recent proposals. The front part adopts a slightly more “SUV” posture with thinner headlights which give way to an angular grille.

The cabin also receives a facelift with the addition of controversial haptic touches for the heating and air conditioning system and the multimedia system. Unlike some recently renewed models, Volkswagen has refrained from generalizing this approach, favoring physical buttons on the steering wheel and near the gear lever.

Mechanically, the 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder retains its place under the hood. It gains a handful of horsepower to go from 158 to 174 hp thanks to some modifications to the turbocharger and injectors. All-wheel drive liveries will also be equipped with an eight-speed torque converter transmission to replace the dual-clutch gearbox, to enhance the driving experience, according to Volkswagen.

The 2025 Volkswagen Taos will go on sale early next year at a price that has not yet been specified.
