During a speech on Wednesday, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization. He again assured that he would be ready to defend his country against what he considers to be threats.

On Wednesday, September 21, Vladimir Putin gave a speech during which he announced the partial mobilization of the Russians. “To protect our homeland, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, to ensure the security of our people, I consider it necessary to carry out a partial mobilization”said Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. It would concern 300,000 reservists who already have military experience. “If they tell me to go to the front, I’m going. We’ll all die, some will die right away, others later”says a young man.

These new recruits will go to reinforce the ranks in the territories controlled by Russia in Ukraine. Before the war, Russia occupied Crimea, as well as the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In seven months of conflict, it extended its domination to the east and to the south. In these areas, pro-Russian supporters will organize referendums to make them full Russian territories. Vladimir Putin promises to defend them, brandishing the nuclear threat.
