Vladimir Putin deplores the deterioration of ties between Russia and Europe in front of ambassadors

Vladimir Putin regretted, Monday, December 4, the deterioration of diplomatic relations between Moscow and the West, which followed the Russian attack against Ukraine and the establishment of sanctions against Moscow. A statement made while the Russian head of state received several new European ambassadors in the Kremlin.

At a ceremony honoring the recently appointed foreign ambassadors, he welcomed, among others, the new representatives of Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Greece and Slovenia. With the Swedish representative, Vladimir Putin expressed his regret for “the complete absence of political contacts” and a restriction “economic cooperation” and “cultural and humanitarian ties”between Russia and Sweden.

Vladimir Putin, when receiving the new British ambassador, while London is one of the most active supporters of kyiv against Moscow, limited himself to saying that the state of dialogue between Russia and the United Kingdom was “know by everyone”. The Russian president noted, with the new ambassador of Slovenia, that the bilateral dialogue between Moscow and Ljubljana had been “stopped”ensuring that Russia is “ready” to relaunch it if the Slovenian side wished.
