The Toronto Blue Jays came just short of qualifying for the playoffs in the 2021 season and first cushion player Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is already on a mission to ensure that this does not happen again.

In videos published by Z101 Digital on Thursday, the son of former Montreal Expos Vladimir Guerrero is there and is doing intense training.
“I work even harder [maintenant] that during the last offseason, mentioned the powerful slugger to the American media. My goal is to get to training camp in the best physical shape of my life to have a better season than last and help the Blue Jays win the World Series. ”
If the Blue Jays missed the fall dance, even with a 91-71 record, it certainly isn’t Guerrero Jr.’s fault.
In 2021, the 22-year-old terrified the opposing pitchers, who among other things hit 48 home runs and crossed the plate 123 times, two highs in the major leagues. He also maintained a .289 batting average and produced 111 points. His performances even earned him a nomination for the title of Most Valuable Player in the American League. He escaped that honor, however, in favor of Los Angeles Angels handyman Shohei Ohtani, who was voted unanimously.
A better season on a personal level may well earn him this prestigious honor, but Guerrero Jr. has other goals in mind.
“My main goal is to help the Blue Jays reach the playoffs and win the World Series. If you’re asking me to choose between winning the MVP title or qualifying for the playoffs, I’ll take the second option, said Guerrero Jr.. It’s more important to me than earning an honor [individuel]. “
If all goes well with the renewal of the collective agreement, Charlie Montoyo’s men will kick off their 2022 season on March 31, with a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.
