The violinist Renaud Capuçon, the actor and playwright Alexis Michalik and the actress Virginie Ledoyen will carry the Olympic and Paralympic flame, announced Paris 2024, the organizing committee of the Games, on January 29, one hundred days before its arrival in Marseille.

They join other personalities from the cultural world, who have become ambassadors of the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay, called “Relay of Scouts”: the comedian and actor Jamel Debbouze, the actor and influencer Just Riadh, the musician and performer Ben Mazué, actress Sabrina Ouazani and Alicia Aylies, singer and beauty queen.

“Inspiring journeys”

These artists were chosen “for their inspiring journeys, their respective commitments, their ability to bring emotions to life”, according to Paris 2024. The ambassadors, like all the bearers of the flame, embody “in their own way the energies of the Relay: the energy of sport, the energy of the territories and the energy of the collective”.

The flame is expected on May 8, 2024 in Marseille. She will arrive from Athens, aboard the Belemthe majestic French three-masted ship classified as a historic monument since 1984. Which “will mark the start of a continuous celebration across France for more than two months”, underlines Paris 2024. The Olympic torch will be carried by 10,000 bearers, 3,000 of whom will participate in team relays. A relay will extend over 200m and last four minutes.
