In An impossible love, Virginie Efira and Niels Schneider play two lovers, Rachel and Philippe. Rachel is a modest office worker, and Philippe a brilliant young man from a middle-class family. From their passionate affair will be born a little girl, Chantal (played by Ambre Hasaj for childhood, Estelle Lescure for the teenage period and Jhenny Beth for adulthood). Philippe refuses to get married outside of his social class and to recognize their daughter Chantal, until her adolescence. The character played by Niels Schneider then gets closer to his daughter and sexually abuses her. Chantal will then move away from her mother, whom she holds responsible.

After An impossible love, Virginie Efira and Niels Schneider followed suit a second time the following year in Sibyl. The sublime blonde had returned to their two collaborations in an interview with Vogue Paris : “When we had sex scenes together, we didn’t know each other, it was very special. On Sybil [en 2019, NDLR] on the other hand, we were together (…). The fact that it was with Niels was not easy … Already, just kissing someone for a movie, it’s something so intimate. The simulation of coitus, still going, but kissing … For this scene with Niels, I still had to drink lightly before!“
The two companions do not hesitate to support each other publicly, by attending their respective previews. Last summer, Niels climbed the steps of the Cannes Film Festival for the screening of Benedetta. Virginie Efira returned the favor by accompanying her to the CannesSéries festival, where the series Totems was presented.
