The deputy Ensemble pour la République du Nord Violette Spillebout reacted to the formation of the new government and her absence within the executive.
Lille MP (Ensemble pour la République, EPR) Violette Spillebout was tipped to take over the Ministry of National Education. But the former socialist was not selected. “It is a great honour to be offered the Ministry of Education, which is a big ministry that is very important for the future of our children and our country. There were headwinds. I don’t know exactly what happened. The Prime Minister finally told me that he had changed his mind the next day following a lot of pressure on the constitution of his government.”believes Violette Spillebout, Renaissance du Nord MP
She became Martine Aubry’s chief of staff before falling out with the mayor of Lille before joining the Macronist cause in 2018. “In the North, there are a lot of people that I disturb so I won’t say any names. What is certain is that I have been completely removed from a list: neither the Ministry of National Education nor any other ministry. You know, the low blows in politics unfortunately still exist. It is a difficult time for France, today I am projecting myself into supporting a government (…) I am at work”, adds the MP.
