The clashes between demonstrators and the police caused another death in Sudan. It is the fourth day of confrontation after a military coup d’etat refused by the street. The international community calls for the return of a civilian government.
After the protest, it is time for mourning in the streets of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Images show hundreds of Sudanese marching behind a coffin, that of a young man killed Wednesday, October 27, during protests against the military coup. Since Tuesday, the army has violently repressed the mobilizations against its seizure of power and the fall of the civilian government.
The crackdown has already left eight dead and more than 170 injured. After a night of clashes with the security forces, the demonstrators continue to protest peacefully, with deadly city operations. Shops are closed, streets deserted and roads blocked by barricades. For his part, the Sudanese representative to the UN of the ousted government, spoke to the other member states, urging them to act, reports 11 p.m. Thursday, October 28.
