The night has been “probably” worse than the previous one, said Friday, June 30 on Frace Inter Olivier Klein, Minister Delegate for the City and Housing, commenting on the third night of urban violence which followed the death of Nahel.

“Probably in number of buildings attacked, mobilization… At the same time, there was a very strong mobilization of the police, civil servants, local elected officials”he specified. “There were quite a number of public buildings attacked, including town halls, police stations, municipal police and attacks on shops, looting.”
“Violence is unjustifiable”continued Olivier Klein. “Yes there is anger, you have to hear it, understand it, but the words that were those of the President of the Republic, of the Prime Minister, of myself in the direction of the family of Nahel are words righteous, justice is on the way.”
“I call for calm because the Republic needs calm, working-class neighborhoods need this calm, let’s not take the risk of having another accidentwarns Olivier Klein. You can’t break up your own neighborhood, the libraries, the schools… This is what makes the strength of these neighborhoods, education, access to culture”.
