In Béthune, a woman was killed by several stab wounds, at home in front of her daughter, by her former companion. He was arrested. However, the victim had filed a complaint against him less than three weeks ago.
The mother of the family was killed in her house in Béthune (Pas-de-Calais), still under sealed. In front of the door, flowers have been placed in his memory. A neighbor had given the alert on the night of Thursday, March 9, awakened by screams. He is 5:30 when Nadège B., 48, is attacked with a knife, in front of her 12-year-old daughter. She dies moments later. His ex-companion is seen fleeing by car and is quickly arrested.
A complaint filed for death threats
The neighborhood is still struggling to achieve. “She was nice. In the street here, it’s still a shock”, says a neighbor. According to the prosecution, the 52-year-old man confessed to his crime in police custody. On February 21, Nadège B. had however filed a complaint against her ex-companion for death threats. The prosecutor says the complaint was being processed. For the feminists, who demonstrated in Lille (North) on March 11, it is one more woman who has not been protected.
