On Friday, February 21, 2025, tune in to France 2 at 9:10 PM for the premiere of the exciting new police drama, Haute saison. Starring Vinnie Dargaud, known for his roles in Scènes de Ménages and Clem, the series follows Alex, a cheerful and laid-back Parisian cop who relocates to the picturesque Basque Coast in Biarritz after requesting a transfer.

Unraveling the Mystery of Alex

In his new surroundings, Alex encounters a diverse group of colleagues, each with their own distinct personalities. However, there’s more to Alex than meets the eye. He arrives in this beautiful region with a hidden agenda: to uncover the truth behind his younger brother’s mysterious death, adding a layer of intrigue to the storyline.

Reflecting on his character, Vinnie Dargaud shares, “Alex is a vibrant character, full of humor and warmth, who relishes the joys of life and enjoys the sunshine. Although he seems to come to Biarritz to take it easy, he harbors a complex past that diverges from a typical police career. This depth allows him to navigate various situations with unique skills, while still keeping certain truths about himself concealed from his new team.”

What Sets ‘Haute saison’ Apart?

In a landscape filled with police dramas, Haute saison distinguishes itself through its rich character dynamics and the connections formed among them. Dargaud emphasizes, “The casting is exceptional. Each actor brings a unique personality, allowing us to create memorable characters that break the mold of conventional roles. It feels like we’re part of a quirky band of misfits!”

The camaraderie among the cast was palpable, even amidst the challenges posed by unpredictable weather during filming. “We shot during the off-season in October, which meant fewer tourists in Biarritz. Fortunately, the locals were incredibly welcoming, and we enjoyed breathtaking scenery, even managing to film some thrilling sequences,” Dargaud recalls. “Despite the cold, we embraced every moment, including some daring scenes in the frigid sea!”

Looking forward, there is optimism for a sequel to Haute saison. “We’re hopeful! The network is enthusiastic about the project, and the writers are already working on a follow-up. If the audience loves it as much as we do, we are ready to continue the journey, whether as a series or a collection of films,” he added.

As for his ongoing role in Scènes de Ménages, Dargaud expresses his desire to remain with the show. “Being part of such a beloved series is a privilege. I cherish the opportunity to work alongside my best friend, Claire Chust, and I take great pride in the quality of the program. As long as it continues to evolve and engage viewers, I’ll be there!”
