A man in his sixties was injured by a sharp object after a conflict possibly related to drugs escalated in the Montreal borough of Ville-Marie.
The altercation occurred shortly after 1 p.m., at the corner of Saint-André and Sainte-Catherine streets, according to Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department (SPVM). Shortly after arriving on scene, police officers arrested a 27-year-old suspect. The man was to be met by police investigators.
The victim, injured in the upper body, was taken care of by the ambulance crews of Urgences-santé before being transported to the hospital. She was then conscious, according to Mme Dubuc: According to initial information, “the conflict could be linked to the world of narcotics,” she said.
