(Montreal) Montreal police have opened an investigation into shots fired in the Ville-Marie borough on Tuesday night. No one was injured in the incident.
Emergency services were notified around 3:25 a.m. that explosions had been heard on Drummond Street, near René-Lévesque Boulevard West, in the city’s downtown area.
“When they arrived on the scene, the patrol officers located at least one projectile impact on the front of a commercial building, as well as at least one shell casing on the roadway,” said officer Julien Lévesque, who is a spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department.
As of Wednesday morning, Montreal police were not aware of any injuries related to the incident. No arrests had been made.
A security perimeter was set up to allow investigators to analyze the crime scene, which resulted in the closure of Drummond Street between René-Lévesque Boulevard West and Sainte-Catherine Street West.
