The body of a man aged around 30 showing signs of violence was found Saturday morning in a vehicle parked in an alley in the Ville-Marie district. An investigation was opened by the police authorities.
It was around 7:50 a.m. that the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) reported having been called to go very close to the intersection of Logan and Dufresne streets, in the Centre-Sud sector.
A man in his thirties was quickly located by the first patrol officers. His lifeless body was found in a truck which was parked in the back alley of Logan Street at the time.
His death was pronounced on the spot. No resuscitation maneuvers were carried out by the first responders, said agent Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM, on Saturday. The man’s body bore marks of violence at the time of his discovery.
A vast security perimeter was therefore in place at the start of the day and should remain in place for several hours. Several investigators from the Major Crimes Section will be on site during the day to comb the scene.
Potential witnesses or members of the neighborhood could be encountered during the investigation. Law enforcement will also try to check whether video tapes from nearby surveillance cameras might be available.
