In Indre-et-Loire, villages found themselves without drinking water following the floods which inundated a catchment station on Wednesday April 3.

In Montrésor (Indre-et-Loire), residents were deprived of drinking water on Wednesday April 3. Even for showering, it is not recommended to use water to avoid the risk of inhalation. This exceptional situation is caused by the floods which flooded the town and its catchment station. More than 800 residents are deprived of drinking water and queue every evening to collect bottles during a distribution organized by the municipality.

Two packs of water per person

With two packs of water per person, you have to ration. This distribution is essential for the village baker. For thirty years, he has used tap water to make his bread or do the dishes. “I didn’t think I would consume as much as that, yesterday, in one short day, we made 150 liters”, indicates Olivier Beaugrand, baker. The catchment station is dry again, but the water quality analysis results are expected on Thursday, April 4 evening.
