Very hot weather is expected at the end of the week in the Gard. The services of Météo France have just placed the department in vigilance orange heat wave from Friday 1 p.m. A heat wave is underway in the south of the country, extending towards Roussillon, in the lower Rhône valley and south of the Alps. This Friday during the day, the temperatures are up sharply compared to the day before with maximums between 36 and 38 degrees, locally 40 degrees in the plains, still according to Météo France. The days following the minimum temperatures remain as high. The maximums are down slightly but still well above seasonal norms.
In the Gard and the Vaucluse, warns Météo France again, “if the temperatures at night from Thursday to Friday are still relatively cool, the daytime temperatures on Friday are up sharply compared to the day before with maximums included between 36 and 38 degrees, including on the Gard coast, locally 40 degrees in the plains.”
The days following the temperatures remain at high levels, both the minimums and the maximums, at least until the beginning of next week.
