It’s a rule, all the artists named in the “revelation” category must perform on stage during the annual ceremony of Music Victories. A real spotlight on these artists which offers them considerable visibility, since the ceremony is broadcast live on television and radio. France Bleu gives you an appointment on its airwaves as well as on FranceBleu.fr to follow the entire ceremony.
They are only six artists to have been selected to compete in the “male revelation” and “female revelation” categories of the Victoires de la Musique 2022. Coming from different musical styles, France Bleu welcomed these artists in La Nouvelle Scène musicale to make you discover them a few days before the ceremony of February 11, 2022. Back in video on these rising artists who talk to us about their dreamsof octopus trap, of seperation, of introspectionof Sun or even of fraternity.
Male revelation
Black Dog
It is Jean Grillet’s artist name that he borrowed from “Treasure Island” by Stevenson. During his childhood, he grew up near Bordeaux where he met Mark Daumail (Cocoon) who put his foot in the stirrup. Piano at 6, guitar at 13, he later finds music to tell his inner self. Spotted by Le Chantier des Francos, he has already written for Vanessa Paradis. Cap still screwed on his head, he presents his album “True Stories”.
When I write, I realize afterwards what I wanted to say.
Despite his artist name, black dog likes soft songs. On pointillist arrangements of guitars, pianos and electronic programming, he interprets his texts with a slender voice that evokes the lost paradise of childhood. On the surface, his songs sound like friendly nursery rhymes, catchy and light.

Myd
Quentin Lepoutre is nominated for the Victoires for the first time. He has already experienced the joys of nomination when he competed for the César for best music in 2018 for the soundtrack of little peasant. He will have waited ten years, since the release of his first EP, to offer his only album, worthy of the great hours of the french touchhe was a member with his friends of the FEMIS of the Club Cheval group and today he is a Internationally recognized DJ.
With an album called Born a Losereven if I lose, I win!
Myd is as much a instinctive producer than an incisive DJ, and this result materializes in a first album where everything is in its place. And it is with this quiet audacity that he was able to perfect the nuanced, solar and melancholic sound which was the strength of the track ‘The Sun’, and which continues in this project with “Together We Stand” and “Let You Speak” in particular. But far from reproducing a ready-made recipe, Myd mostly succeeded in figuring out how far he could go.

Black land
Natives of the Loire department, Raphaël and Théo Herrerias spent a good part of their childhood in Terrenoire, a working-class district of the city of Saint-Étienne. When the two brothers decide to get into music, the name of their duo is already found.
Introduced to music by an uncle fan of rock and guitar, Raphaël and Théo choose this group name both to never forget their roots, and to continue to draw their inspiration from the places of their childhood.
The most beautiful thing is to experience things between brothers.
In September 2020, the duo released their first album entitled “Les Forces Contraires”. Today, they return with a sequel subtitled “Death and Light”. A work deeply marked by the disappearance of their father, who died of cancer in 2018, with in particular the title “Behind the sun”.

Female revelation
The Empress
A group with 6 heads. In 2022, they celebrate their ten-year career, dotted with milestones, starting with the arrival of Flore in 2015, their singer, who transformed their original funk forever. Another major step, their passage to the festival Coachella in 2020, the culmination of a world tour (Mexico, Turkey, Chile, etc.) Their second album, conceived in Tangier, is an effective remedy for the ambient gloom.
It’s the “broken heart syndrome”, Tako Tsuboit means “octopus trap”.
Tako Tsubo, this is the name of this second album. A name in reference to a syndrome which is manifested by a distortion of the heart due to intense emotion, positive or negative. And this intense emotion is what the group experienced with a first album that will take them to the four corners of the globe. Today, the Empress imposes her vision of things and breaks the codesto the delight of his courtiers.

Barbara Pravi
At the beginning of February, Barbara Pravi is on stage at the Trianon for two evenings. Ten years ago she was a waitress there. Impossible to talk about her without mentioning her splendid second place in the Eurovision Song Contest with the anthem “Voilà”, co-written with Lili Poe and Igit. Yes, but here it is, the beginning of his career… and his first album We don’t lock up the birdsbetween strength and tenderness, installs her as the heir to the great voices, Piaf in the lead.
Barbara Pravi has made an infinite song of her life, both for herself and for others. She indeed marks with her paw titles for Yannick Noah or Terrenoire. Artist committed to women’s rights, she moves every time.

Silly Boy Blue
The ex-singer of the group Pégase, Ana Benabdelkarim continues her adventure under the solo project Silly Boy Blue, a name borrowed from a David Bowie title recorded in May 68.
Ever since she was little, Ana has worshiped David Bowie. If she listened to it very young with her parents, it was above all an artist who accompanied her at each stage of her life through a period or an album.
The Victoires de la Musique is a bit of a dream that we don’t talk about because we’re afraid it’ll never happen.
What does she admire? This taste for risk, this unlimited musical ambitionthis freedom taken with conventions or the genre, this melancholy… Today a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, it is her turn to embody Bowie’s Silly Boy Blue, transforming this title into a name and his fantasies in augmented reality.
