The winner of Top Chef 2016, Xavier Pincemin, opened a restaurant for 15 days, and officially closes its doors on October 4. Brut went there, and makes you discover this gastronomic cuisine sprinkled with hip-hop culture.
In Paris, in the 9th arrondissement, the restaurant (F)EAT has opened its doors. But it’s already too late to book a table there, because it’s going to close soon. This ephemeral establishment served no less than 90 covers over the 15 opening nights. Its specificity? The chef of this project (and of the kitchens), Xavier Pincemin, wanted to mix the gastronomic universe with hip-hop. “It’s street food with gastronomy, it’s a featuring. That, in fact, is the concept. So, we’re going to make you crispy prawns, crispy tuna, we also worked on a vegetarian menu, with celery kebabs, super good. You feel like it’s meat, by the way, everyone thinks it’s meat, but it’s not meat”, explains the chef.
“Everything is homemade, French products”, describes Xavier Pincemin. Inside the restaurant, snaps of rappers adorn the walls. But these are not the only things offered by the (F)EAT teams. “We have an artist every evening, who comes, and they’re going to do a showcase, except that it’s not a showcase like everywhere else, it’s really very close to the customers.” Reservations were open on Instagram to the public. “In less than 24 hours, we sold out, direct, 15 restaurant days, shielded. (…) We can accommodate couples, tables of friends, there are a lot of influencers, there are serious beautiful people who come to dinner”, welcomes the chef.
