For his new film “Dogman”, Luc Besson brought together around a hundred dogs and nine trainers on set. Brut goes backstage.
“My very first impression after reading the script was: “Oh my God!” There were so many dogs and each one was a character” explains Mathilde de Cagny, trainer for the film Dogman. In Luc Besson’s new film, Caleb Landry Jones plays the main role, that of Douglas. He looks back on his filming experience: “We had a little over a hundred dogs in total on set. We had 9 trainers for the dogs. It was interesting, because Douglas has a relationship with them that’s not like the relationship people have with animals. For him, dogs are human, for him, they are our equals, totally”. The film Dogman is released in French cinemas on Wednesday September 27.
