Lizzie, 20, has four odd jobs. Despite this, she is exposed every month. She tells.
“Chinese noodles, it makes me a meal, I’m hungrier and it’s 55 cents.”
Lizzie is 20 years old, she lives in Metz and has no less than four odd jobs. Every day, she counts each of her expenses to the nearest penny, but despite this, she is still overdrawn barely five days after paying her pay of around 800 euros. The young woman lives in a 24 square meter studio which costs her 390 euros per month. To save money, Lizzie does not heat her home. “It’s too expensive, it’s electric“, she breathes. For her meals, Lizzie deprives herself of eating properly. “There was a time when I had a baguette, half for lunch, half for dinner, because it’s cheap“, she recalls.
In addition to the financial difficulties she must overcome, Lizzie must hold on physically despite the fatigue. “Morale is completely at zero, no desire to go to work in the morning, since in the end, I work from Monday to Sunday“, she confides.
