Born in Togo, Simon Worou is mayor of a commune in Aveyron. A year after being re-elected for a second term, Brut returned to meet him. And some locals have changed their minds about him …
A year ago, Brut went to meet Simon Worou, born in Togo and became mayor of this Aveyron town of 585 inhabitants. He had just been re-elected for his second term. “I am quite proud, very proud, because this issue of fear, fear, distant gaze and all that, I no longer find it in Aveyron, and it is a battle won”, he rejoices.
Today, Simon Worou believes he has won a first fight. “I address myself to all foreigners, I rather call it the diaspora of immigrants, who go elsewhere, to France or elsewhere, we must not wait for things to be brought to us. We have to go and win them“, launches the mayor. From his career, he wrote a book in which he tells his story.
