About Ukraine
“When a peace treaty has been signed, NATO will have to resume contacts with Russia. two powers would represent a danger” political, monetary and military, said the presidential candidate. Like Emmanuel Macron, Marine Le Pen does not use the term “genocide” to qualify the crimes committed in Ukraine. This term “legally corresponds to an extremely precise definition which cannot be given at that time of the conflict”.
On the other hand, according to her, “it is obviously war crimes” when “unarmed civilians are thus murdered”as in Boutcha and Mariupol. “If the responsibility of Russia is engaged”, she could “obviously” answer for his crimes before an international tribunal.
On the incident during his press conference
Marine Le Pen returned to her press conference on Wednesday, disturbed by an activist from the Ibiza collective. “What should scandalize is that we cannot campaign for the second round without the press conferences being disrupted, without us being attacked”, regrets the leader of the RN. “A police officer arrested this lady and injured himself in the process. This lady was therefore evacuated by letting herself be dragged on the ground by my order service.
On Emmanuel Macron’s five-year term
“We have never had a president who has shown as much authoritarianism as Emmanuel Macron”declared Marine Le Pen, responding to the president-candidate who had mentioned Wednesday, also on France 2, the return “the true face of the far right”. Emmanuel Macron is “the man of the brutal repression of all demonstrations, not just yellow vests.”
On the citizens’ initiative referendum
“I want to strengthen democracy through two measures: the implementation of proportional [également proposée par Emmanuel Macron] and the citizens’ initiative referendum: 500,000 signatures to propose a law or repeal a law.”
Marine Le Pen also wants to submit to the referendum “a revision of the Constitution”says Marine Le Pen. “I want the referendum to become a classic tool of democracy”she adds, referring to the citizens’ initiative referendum. “My regime is the Fifth Republic”she says. “The question of the death penalty could go through a referendum, everything could go through a referendum” – except for what goes against the Constitution.
On 0% VAT for certain products
Marine Le Pen proposes to set up 0% VAT on a basket of 100 products. “We will have no difficulty in obtaining the agreement of the EU since the Union indicated a few days ago that it was rather favorable to lowering the VAT on basic necessities taking into account inflation”. She also wants to introduce a 5.5% VAT, against 20%, on energy (fuel, gas, electricity, etc.), a measure that she quantifies “at 12 billion euros”.
On the voters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon
Marine Le Pen moves Thursday in the Vaucluse, where Jean-Luc Mélenchon collected good scores in the first round. Asked about the leader of La France insoumise, Marine Le Pen reiterates that some of her voters “are Islamo-leftists”. “I find that Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in recent years, he who was very attached to secularism, has drifted towards complacency with regard to Islamism and not all his voters are on this line.
