In the Cévennes, the Wildlife Hospital rescues injured animals. To raise awareness of their well-being, they release the treated birds in the presence of the public. Brut was present at one of these events.

“It’s a very important day, it’s the culmination of all our work and therefore the whole team is happy and the birds too. It’s the most beautiful moment, actually.” Lou is a veterinarian. At the Wildlife Hospital in the Cévennes, she works with Marie-Pierre and other volunteers. They take care of injured wild animals. They also work to prevent the welfare of animals and wildlife. In particular, they want to release them in the presence of an audience, to raise awareness among as many people as possible.

“We have young people, when they arrive, they have never touched an animal”

She tries as much as possible to release the treated birds with other people, especially children. “We try, because how sad would that be… Imagine that I let go on my own. It’s super important. And it is to increase the circle of poets, of awakened, knowledgeable, sensitive and above all active protectors”she thinks. “We have young people, when they arrive, they have never touched an animal, never treated an animal. And in fact, afterwards, you learn and you become addicted.”

“You have to make them understand that nature is their only home. There, we bring the animals back to their homes. It is shared. It is really vital for me that these children understand that we are in a ‘one health’ world, a single health, a single land, ‘one earth’, a single wealth ‘to share and enrich’, to enrich and to share”adds Marie-Pierre.
