She was the guest of “L’Evénement” on France 2 on Tuesday.
“We were quite alone, a few months ago, to call for a ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip, denounces Manon Aubry. The head of the France Insoumise list for the European elections was the guest of “L’Evénement” on France 2, Tuesday April 9. She reacted to a column by Emmanuel Macron published in several media on Monday, co-written with the Egyptian president and the king of Jordan, calling for a ceasefire “immediate” and a release of “all the hostages” in Gaza. “It’s a good first step even if it’s late (…) saying is one thing, acting is another”she suggested.
Manon Aubry recalled three commitments of the rebels linked to the war between Israel and Hamas: “recognition of the State of Palestine”, “an embargo on the shipment of arms to Israel” And “the suspension of the association agreement between the European Union and Israel”. She assures that, if her list wins the European vote, “There will not be a single country that will send weapons to a state that is massacring its people”. The head of the list regrets “a form of hypocrisy” on the part of France and the European Union, who refuse “to adopt (these) sanctions”.
