VIDEO. The “Jack Mimoun” team recounts the film

“JI can talk about my character if you want, but I’m not here to talk about the movie”, laughs François Damiens. He is on view alongside Jérôme Commandeur and Malik Bentalha for the film Jack Mimoun and the secrets of Val Verde, directed by Malik Bentalha himself and Ludovic Colbeau-Justin. They presented their film at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, which took place from August 23 to 28. Brut met them, and asked them to pitch the film, which will be released this October 12 at the cinema.

“This is the story of Jack Mimoun, who is a kind of Mike Horn, who has a hit survival show, who will be caught up by the beautiful Aurélie Diaz who will take him to the most dangerous island in the world. . (…) Of course, played by Joséphine Japy”, explains the comedian and director. “It’s a film we wrote with Tristan Schulmann, the screenwriter, and Florent Bernard, (…) it’s a film we wrote together.”

“It’s a role, I would say, all in thickness. He is at the same time singular, soft, generous, sophisticated, and that’s what I really tried to promote, in quotes”, jokes François Damiens, in the role of Jean-Marc Bastos. “It’s an ‘Inrocks’ role. It means that it will please the Inrocks. So, Inrocks is a newspaper”, quips Jérôme Commandeur.
