“It’s very interesting, I think, to have a rural march where everyone can come together, exchange in diversity, tolerance.” The very first rural pride march was on Saturday July 16, 2022 in Chenevelles. Raw was there.

On the occasion of the first pride march organized far from the big cities, many LGBT supporters met in this small town to defend their colors. According to Etienne Deshoulières, lawyer for STOP Homophobia, “another 17% of LGBT people have already suffered physical aggression, 33% of people have already been discriminated against because of their sexual orientation and 28% of LGBT people have been subjected to insults.”

The first rural pride march was organized by Stop Homophobia and the town hall of Chenevelles.“It’s very important for everyone here too to realize that there are LGBT people on the campaign trail as well.”

For more tolerance, the association of rural mayors has signed an inclusion charter to train municipal staff in LGBTQI+ issues. With this parade, they hope to honor all different genders and sexual orientations.

“Activating, fighting against this discrimination all together at a time like this is extremely important”explains Etienne Deshoulières.
