These teachers from Seine-Saint-Denis gathered in front of the management of the departmental services of National Education to protest against the lack of staff in their establishment. Brut attended the protests.
“We regularly have students who are in situations of poor housing, who are housed for example, it can happen in squats or who are being evicted from their accommodation because they simply do not have the means to pay. their rent. But these are things that must be settled by people trained for, by an assistant or a social worker..”
Brut found several angry teachers from Seine-Saint-Denis. Gathered before the direction of the departmental services of National Education in Bobigny, they ask for more medico-social personnel in their establishment. “We have been missing a social worker on the establishment for two years now, and half a nurse’s post. We are in a devastated department in terms of social conditions for our students. We also have students who cannot eat their fill every day.”
Due to the lack of school staff, the daily life of these teachers is becoming more and more complicated to manage. “We would just like to do our pedagogical work in front of the students, that is to say teach them things to train them for the rest of their studies and in fact all these social situations prevent us from doing it correctly since suddenly, we are obliged to take the relay of something that is not our job.”
